The Palliative Care unit at Llanidloes Hospital has been one of our chosen charities this year. They do a vital job in providing care for end of life and supporting people whose lives are limited because of health conditions.
Palliative care is the active holistic care of patients with advanced progressive illness. Management of pain and other symptoms and provision of psychological, social and spiritual support is paramount. The goal of palliative care is achievement of the best quality of life for patients and their families.
Our local Palliative care team aims to:
- Provide relief from pain and other distressing symptoms
- Integrate the psychological and spiritual aspects of patient care
- Offer a support system to help patients live as actively as possible until death
- Offer a support system to help the family cope during the patient’s illness and in their own bereavement
The Ball held in Trefeglwys on June 3rd has all been worth it and everyone who donated prizes, supported the event, came along and bid on the auctions and raffles, thank you! together we raised a phenomenal £7,365!
Our lovely local Palliative Care representative Mori Edwards popped over and we presented her with the giant cheque outside L’Armoire last week.
